About

Our staff work together in three main departments: education, development/fundraising, and marketing/operations. As an intern you would be assisting with all three divisions of our program. Your main focus will be the areas you take the most interest in and are most beneficial to you to learn about. Your internship is tailor made following a placement quiz that helps us understand what you’re passionate about and where we can help you achieve your personal goals. The foundation of our curriculum is helping girls and gender diverse people to live out their dreams. The Other Side is a machine, creative, non profit administrative, education, and fundraising, are only some of these many parts. We’re grateful to have you take a look within our operations and walk away with a wealth of knowledge on the aspects that interest you most about our organization. A personalized and regularly updated ‘Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations’ document will be sent to all interns and volunteers before beginning. Interns will be given a weekly or biweekly set of tasks. These tasks must be completed within ____ hours in order to fulfill the requirement for their internship program. The ideal candidate A creative individual with a passion for equal rights, visual arts, and international connections would be a perfect fit here. Before the Covid-19 Pandemic we had been connecting our students virtually. However, video chat meetings, fully virtual classes, and joint international classes are a very new and exciting addition to our program. You must feel comfortable navigating technology, managing multiple projects, and working with children. This internship would require someone with a flexible sleeping schedule as we occasionally (2-3 times per semester) have to attend very early (9:30 a.m.) or very late (7 p.m.) meetings. These meetings are planned in accordance with your availability and scheduled with at least 1-2 weeks notice. Women, Disabled applicants, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA2S+ applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Our workplace is a safe space and is constantly working in tandem with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion board to ensure we are not just diverse in numbers or image. We are a program built by and for women and LGBTQIA2s+ people to connect with each other and themselves. We are a silly, empathetic, driven, and passionate group of people and if all the above has you smiling to yourself this could be the place for you. It’s helpful but not necessary to have some experience or knowledge of theater.

Fluency in Spanish and/or Hindi is a huge plus.
